Since a holiday to Disney World when he was 12 Allan has loved magic and a career path was chosen.
That’s right, in fact I almost caused a ‘missing person’ report. I was walking with my family through
“Old Town”, a retail area close to the Disney theme park, and as I walked past The Magic Shop I saw a man make a red handkerchief disappear into thin air. I was 12 and without thinking I immediately diverted into the shop and remember standing there open mouthed staring at this guys hands. His sleeves were rolled back and his hands were empty, definitely empty! “Can you make it come back?”, one of the people already in the shop asked in a doubting tone. With that he clenched his fist and he instantly plucked the handkerchief from within his fist! Cutting a long story short, I was so drawn in by what I’d witnessed I’d walked through the door ‘off of the back’ of the family party without telling them. My family were searching for me for over an hour! You see, I had just enough money in my pocket to buy a lesson there and then on how to do that trick. The magician gave a small group of us tuition until we could ‘crudely’ perform it and gave us strict instructions not to perform it for others until we had perfected our performance. I was hooked! Sadly the magic shop is no longer there but my passion for sharing that same moment of wonder with others is.
